FCCANYS, Inc. - Mission Statement

The Family Child Care Association of New York State, Inc. is a non-profit, professional statewide organization dedicated to supporting family child care providers and associations. Members include advocates of quality childcare providers, parents, and agency staff.

The Association was founded in 1975 by Maria Otto. The goals were:

to ease isolation of providers;
to develop a support system;
to encourage licensing; and
to discuss pertinent issues.

The Association has made great strides since our inception. In 2001, the Association opened an office in Albany.

The mission of the Family Child Care Association of New York State, Inc. is to act as a united voice to promote and strengthen the professionalism of providers thereby promoting the quality of family child care.
